The paradigm of spiritual teaching is evolving rapidly. With the proliferation of diverse spiritual guidance techniques and a long history of ethical breaches by teachers in various religious and spiritual communities, the ASI is convinced that it is time for a concentrated effort to support spiritual teachers and organizations in their work.
At the ASI, we recognize spiritual teachers and organizations as stewards of contemporary spiritual culture. You, as leaders, set the standards for ethical practice, shape the environment in which spiritual growth can occur, and model the integration of the human and the divine.
While ethical standards are needed for both individual teachers and organizations, the responsibilities and focus of each differ. Therefore, ASI seeks to address the needs of both individuals and groups by forming two types of membership: “Individual Membership” and “Member Organizations.”
Individual Membership is open to all people who are in a position of spiritual leadership and provide teachings and/or guidance in one-on-one or group settings. For example, spiritual teachers, gurus, meditation teachers, guides, dharma teachers, yoga teachers, counselors or therapists, clerics (priests, ministers, rabbis, imams, etc.) spiritual community leaders or influencers, authors, and bloggers or podcasters who focus solely on spiritual topics.
Member Organizations include any group whose purpose is of a spiritual nature and/or who identify as a spiritual organization. When an organization joins the ASI, said organization agrees to integrate the ASI Honor Code of Ethics into their guidance policies for staff/volunteers and gains access to a network of other spiritual groups committed to ongoing professional and personal evolution, ethical practice, and integrity as core values informing the culture of spiritual leadership. One can join as both an individual member as well as on behalf of their spiritual organization. To do so, you must submit two separate applications: one for individual membership and another for the organization. Please click on the appropriate button below for detailed information on the respective benefits, requirements, and application materials.
Venues: If you represent a venue\space that hosts spiritual events, retreats, classes, or workshops, use the “Join as a Member Organization” button.
The mission of the Association for Spiritual Integrity℠ (ASI) is to foster the fundamental role of strong ethical principles in the ongoing development of spiritual leaders and communities.
